My house has Forced hot water . When the system gets warm the relief valve drips. It is a 30psi valve. the systems reaches 25psi when the valve begins to leak. The Wats model 60 expansion tank sounds like it is empty not waterlogged.
What should the normal hot PSI of the system be? The Gas Co. replaced the inlet valve( covered under service contract) and now wants to replace the Expansion Tank, This item is not coverd under the service contract whin i have.
Thank you

gauge
is the gauge (pressure) any good?
if it is.. replace the Relief valve. the spring shouldnt let go @ 25psi. / otherwise you may have a faulty gauge.
Where is the relief valve located in relation to; pump, tank, fill valve?
Expansion can be tested.. check air pressure WITH 0 PSI on system side. should match inlet valve pressure setting. Typically 12-15 psi.

Terry
