And their families of the space shuttle Columbia.

It broke up on re-entry over Texas.

    High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence.Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
    Up,up the long delirious,burning blue,
Iv'e topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of god.

    No 412 squadron, RCAF
    Killed 11 December 1941

    And God

said to the crew of Columbia: You are now Home.

    Peace to their families.
  • My thoughts are with them...

Hard to believe I saw the launch live a little over two weeks ago. When I was standing there watching the spectacle, my mom in law grabbed my arm and said she had a bad feeling about the whole thing. I told her it was just the excitement of the moment...

Now, all I can do is wonder...

Peace be with those brave souls and their families.

They would want us to continue their journey, I'm sure.

    In memory!

With a full crew aboard and our trust in the Lord
We're coming in on a wing and a prayer.
