I was in the supply house the other day and saw a broucure for fieldpiece meters, I like the idea and am concidering purchacing a kit (HB74k27g) All though I have not recieved a price yet. I wanted to get some info from you folks before I took the leap, Considering it does look expensive! Any one with one or has had the opportunity to use thier meter please let me know, Thanks

    As a convert from UEI

I can tell you that Fieldpiece has exceeded my expectations. My supply house talked me into "trying this new gizmo" about 2 years ago. I can tell you that's what we've been using ever since. I especially like the Non-contact voltage alarm and the test lead holder on the side. Makes diagnostic safer, easier and accurate. This is from a guy who was taught 20 years ago NOT to "put your life into the hands of one of them new fangled digital machines". Analog was the only way to go because you could "see the dial moving and be sure of the readings". Wow, how I've changed. Good luck with your testing.

    love my 'piece

I've had this stick meter for years. Thre dual, temperature head is real handy for troubleshooting heat flow problems.

    Go for it

You can't go wrong. I had a salesman sell me a stick meter in 95. I then bought all the different heads. Now I have the newer on with the NCV. I have never have had any problems.

thanks for the info I am going to get the price , I just needed input as far as the quality and reassurance that this was going to be a good investment. Thanks again.

  • great tool

I was a "Fluke" man for years, but thought I would try a Field Piece a couple of years back. Only Problem I had was when I tried to check out some wiring at the local airport. Guess what, runway lights are DC and lots of Volts! Thing lit up like a christmas tree before it quit. I sent it to factory and they rebuilt/replaced for a nominal fee. Great service if you need it. I would recommend one in a heart beat. I got the anemometer to check air flow in high velocity installs, it works great! Dual temp head is great for air conditioning and boiler work. Gives you each reading or differential...buy it!
