Hate to sound ignorant but
what is the purpose for drop headers and what are the benefits or reasons for or against? Thanks.

drop headers...
are mainly used if you donot have the celling hight to forfill your 24" height requirement between the water line and the bottom of the header so you drop down and build your header hope this helps . but iam sure one of the other fine gents will explain it much better than i can ... David0 -
Great pipework Dave
I bet the time saved making the joint between the 2 headers is reason alone to use a drop header from now on . Did you get to fire it up today ?0 -
firing up today...
i should have it going by noon today, still got to add steam traps as well, the two guys i have with me, have not done steam before, they are learning real fast and are doing well, the kid in the last pic is russ, just turned 21. and is willing to learn and work smart. see ya DAvid0 -
nice header, Dave.
It actually costs less to do it like that, considering the time savings.

WOW
Nice looking pipe work! That must have taken days! I would like to know how you get those pipes together w/out having any teeth marks from your wrenchs?
Jamie0 -
thank you jamie
it took one and 1/2 days to do all the piping, 1/2 a day of that was taking it back apart to repipe it to fit on the blocks oh well. when i pipe in the fittings i frist wick them then teflon tape them, then gasoila pipe dope. the fittings spin on real smooth and tighten up real tight and i never put a wrench on a pice of pipe , only on the fittings, thank you again for the compliment....
