ASHRAE decided to leave out a requirement for smoke detectors in it's discussion of Standard 62.2P in Chicago last week. I guess the session was pretty lively, according to our editor. We'll have more on it later.

detectors ...right John.
Too bad but I understand their dilema. We need better and more reliable detectors and procedures to go with them. I feel it is up to all of us on a local level to educate.
The threee TV stations here locally do not feel this is a subject that needs to be addressed at this time. One actually said let us wait for the next incident and we will maybe do a feature when it is NEWS WORTHY.
They suggested Public Access. My experince with those is that everyone blanks those out on their channel surfing system.0 -
