    The \"experts he could consult\"

are right here, Lisa. If you were near Baltimore I'd be right over!

How about taking some pictures of the boiler, radiators, ends of steam mains and the boiler room piping and posting them here?

  • Just had a

    mini brain-burp.

Plumbers (down here) don't ordinarily service steam equipment.

I do some work for a buddy who owns a very big, full service laundry/dry cleaners. He has a HUGE gas fired boiler which supply's steam for his vast array of pressing equipment.

Try checking your yellow pages under "boilers", "steam boilers", "steam equipment" or call some of the larger laundries and ask them if they use steam, and if so, who services their stuff.

    Best of luck, Lisa.

    Brian in almost steamless Louisiana.

    thank you

    Hello up there,

What a lovely thought - I wish you could come right over!

Thank you so much for your reply - and your suggestion to post photos. I will head home to Alabama (with digital camera) in a few weeks.

    thank you too!

    Dear Brian....

in almost steamless Lousiana - more's the pity that most southerners have forgotten the beauty of steam heat. Alas, what can be done?

Thank you for the brain-burp (I confess to having never heard that expression) - all such brain-burps (present and future) are most welcome! I will certainly follow up on your fine suggestions.

    Thanks again,

    Lisa
