    Pinnacle/Munchkin Rusting out ?????

    I haven't heard anything about a 'rusting-out' problem.
I don't beleive either of these products have been in service long enough to have had that kind of issue. I think the Munchkin has been out there for about a year and a half, and the Pinnacle less than that. Awful short period of time for a 'rusting-out' boogey man to raise it's head. What's the source of information ????

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Munchkin we installed had a bad condensate trap; showed up right away when we first filled the system. Turns out we had to switch out the boiler for a new one since it's so hard to get at.

I haven't heard anything out traps rotting out, though.

    Where is the Munchkin Man?

    uhhhh

That would be kind of tough considering the unit is made of stainless steel.

Does Martz Supply sell either of these units?

    if it came

from another manufactures rep, take it with a grain of salt. A Ford salesman will usually tell you where a Chevy has problems, if it is a one time thing or a production fault, they will make it sound the same. He may have had to do one, but didnt tell you the whole story. Maybe the house was near a beach, and there was a heavy high tide, that would have wiped out any boiler. His included. Ask to see the photos, or documentation.

It has been my experiance, that the folks at HTP are pretty much on top of things, and whenever I have called them, they have been most helpful, and very supportive of their produts. They are a company, it seems to me, that belive in their product, from the company owner, to the guy who cleans the bathrooms when everyone else has gone home.

Someone may have changed one out, but I cant believe that HTP would not have supported the Munchkin line all the way.

Did the Rep say the folks at HTP knew about this? Or was it a decission made without them. The Munchkin has not been around so long that the factory warantey (sp?) should be up.

    Sounds like

a supplier slamming a competitor to me Chuck.

I checked out the Martz web site. They do not list Peerless or HTP as a product line.

    Sorry

I can not believe that a Viessmann rep would even bother talking about a competitors line. They have plenty to talk about.

This sounds like another internet jockster trying to stir up the masses.

Stainless Steel rotting out ... come on !

The Munchkin is a great boiler. Some people just don't want to believe it.
