Laars for a new manual, if the original is missing. Copper tube boilers need a lot of flow. Make sure the pump is sized to handle both the boiler and distribution requirements. Once again the manual will give you the flow rates and pressure drop.

Not unusual for the tubes to scale, or plug, in older copper tube boilers. Depends a lot on the fill water hardness. There are cleaners, and worse case cleaning rods for those tubes. But that vintage boiler would be a good candidate for a replacement, in my opinion. Check the delta t across the supply and return connections.

Pull the top cover and check if the fins are getting plugged up. Sometimes you can see this with a mirror from below. (shut the burners down first :)

Does the boiler run non stop? If so it may be sized to small for the extreme cold days.

How can I adjust the boiler temperature on a teledyne larrs? The heater has always had difficulty keeping the house warm, but is much worse this year. Reading through the other messages and Q&A it seems like this is next thing to try.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Send a picture or a drawing of the boiler and the near boiler piping with size's of all related manifold and branch lines and pump locations. Sounds to me like, as stated above, the boiler is to small or the near boiler piping, pumps, etc. are incorrect. Most low mass boiler service calls I go out on with this problem is simply a bad installation and can be corrected.
