Venting issues

I have a 3 story brown stone, steam heat, with spitting/hissing vents that need to be replaced. Here are my questions:
1. Depending on the location of the radiator (i.e., which floor), do the vents need to be different sizes?
2. What vents would you recommend that I purchase (brand, size, etc.)
3. Is there a good online source to order these, or, can you recommend a good plumbing supply in the Park Slope, Brooklyn area?

Vents

Dole makes good reliable vents that are adjustable depending upon the distance from the boiler.

They should be available from your local plumbing/heating supply and should be easy to install.

The directions for "speed setting" is on the package.

Main vents

The main vents should also be looked, remember the radiator vents should only vent the rad and riser. Some new main vents may make the new rad vents quiet and long lasting.
