I looked at a job where a customer wants to heat a proposed finished basement. Radiant floor heat would be prefered.I was wondering if anyone could recommend the best way to lay the tubing on top of the existing concrete floor. Max floor height is 2 inches above existing floor height. Finished floor would be tile.I not certain of the proper insulation required or best type of underlayment for the floor tile. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

radiant over existing concrete floor in basement
I would use something modular , easy to install , has thermo mass and is waterproof.0 -

Has an interesting looking aluminum skinned insulated panel out that seems as though it would be great for your application. You can probably find it on their web-site. Supposedly you can lay your tile underlayment right on top of it and proceed to tile as usual.0
