Yes, the main vent is about 10 feet past the last riser.

Question about pipe insulation. On a 1 pipe system (continous loop main) the distance between the last riser and the drop to the wet return is about 15 feet. Is it worthwhile to insulate all the way to the wet return drop or end the insulation 3 or 4 feet past the last riser?
IMHO I am thinking of insulating about 4 feet past the riser and leaving the rest open to (1) provide some heat to basement and (2) the steam reaching this part of the uninsulated main would condense rapidly thus creating a slight vaccuum to pull more steam through the main. Your thoughts?0 -
