Twin tran

on an old Heatway Twintran system today. It was the first radiant floor I ever saw some 15 years ago. A customer I was installing central air for was a do it yourselfer and was being helped through the process by the fine folks at Heatway. I got a little nostalgic remembering my first systems I put in myself as a result of seeing this cool new system. I must say I was a bit concerned today that some of the rubber tubes were getting a bit brittle and I had a piece break off in my hand as I tried to back it off the manifold barb. We had a leak in the system that in the end turned out to be a 3/4 copper lead run from the boiler room to the manifold in the garage. We were pressurizing each loop to find the leak and found them all holding pressure. I then pressurised the copper line and found it would not hold pressure. We were relieved there was no leak in the slab but the copper line runs through a floor itself and will be a pain to replace.
