Carwash radiant

This is a Primary-secondary system we just completed for a local carwash/oilchange garage. we have three zones of radiant heat and one zone of snowmelt out in the parking area. The snowmelt runs anytime the outdoor temp drops below freezing to keep water from the "just washed" cars from freezing onto the apron/drying area. The slab is limited with a Tekmar 150 slab sensor. The Boiler is a Shenandoah outfitted with a waste oil burner. She has been burning about 50 gallons of oil a day. The whole system is running on injection mixing via a Taco expandable relay. everything is working great. all we need now is some nice stainless braided lines on the burner.

    Nice

Nice clean work. Is that a dedicated mechanical room.? Love to see oil jobs on the Wall. Even if it is waste oil.

    Regards,

Nice job and a couple of questions

We do absolutely zero oil work here in Colorado Springs so I don't really have a clue, but I did give an estimate to a company that wanted us to install a vent for there waste oil heater and we had to use Class one vent pipe, very expensive, is it just the manufacturer that spec's the vent or different areas codes? Also how about a little bit more info about the pumps and those big pig tail cords off the pumps etc...Boiler work sure is satisfying!

    thanks!

as far as the venting goes I think it is up to the manufacturer but I really couldn't say for sure. The pumps are Grundfos pumps 26-64's and 26-99's. the injector is a 15-42. If you have never used Grundfos you would be amazed at how quiet they are. The pig tail cord is a watertight flexible conduit. This is a dedicated mechanical room and there is a lot of detergents, water and equipment in this room. As you can see the panels are stainless steel so corrosion is an issue. This is a very clean mechanical room though and I think everyone did a really nice job. This is honestly the first waste oil burner I have installed. It uses compressed air to atomize the oil into the combustion chamber.

    Thanks,
