Riser to nowhere ?

My one pipe system has a riser about mid main that goes through the bathroom and is capped solid in the attic.

It goes from 1" pipe from the feed off the main, to a 2" pipe on the riser, up into the bathroom.

In the bathroom is a side tapping off this riser with a spring loaded adjustable nut that can close or open this tap and attachted to that is a standard radiator vent that spews water when the pressure is up, and allows the riser to get hot to heat the bathroom.

Was this riser an additional attic feed for heat that was never connected to a radiator ?

Should the solid cap be changed and made into an additional main vent on a riser to solve the spitting vent problem ?

Any thoughts on the function of this riser ?

P.S . this is no other radiator or heat source in the bathroom.
