30 something (?) year old trianco heatmaker (converted to model 130) is out . . . small mountain town with few resources and limited, biased information.

any recommendations for a 3,300 sf home located at about 7,700 feet above sea level? our options seem to be
A) weil-mclain
B) burnham
c) utica

ANY information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks, greg

    never seen one that old

I thought they came out in 79-80? ANy heatmaker over 15 years old I recommend be replaced.

I'm a Viessmann and Larrs man myself.

Sometimes it's best to go with what is in the marketplace for parts and service availabilty.

    What mountain town?

    Remote locations

I did some work on Bermuda and US Virgin Islands a few years ago and the best advice for a somewhat remote location is to go with what is most common and what brand parts can most easily be sourced.

Otherwise you might want to get into the business and stock parts.

Two service calls to Bermuda nearly put me out of business!

at the Burnham Minuteman II boiler/water heater. These prove to be a pretty simple replacement for the Heatmaker. Hope this helps.

    new boiler

If your going to go with 1 of those 3 go with a burnham, and if poss. put an indirect on. That way there will be less hours of run time on the boiler. I would go with a New Yorker HGS with an Amtrol. They are much easietr to clean and maintain. Weil mclain and uticas can be messy.
