Heat reflectors for steam radiators

A chilly consumer

Does anyone know where I can buy the foil reflectors (or suitable substitute) to place behind my steam radiators. The old ones have deteriorated and the local stores (including Depot) don't carry them any longer. If you have them I will be glad to cover shipping.

I'm in Westchester Co., NY.

find a sheet metal shop have them cut you some sheetmetal to size

A simple sustitute

You could just buy some foil faced hard board foam insulation and cut it too size for each radiator.

great, any one can do it, but my grandfather allways had me using "coke tin". Nice and brite, will stay brite if kept warm and dry, cand be hemed, bent, and will stand by it's own self. Makes cool noises like thunder when you play with it too!Also great for cookie cutters and cake sheet, bread drawer liners, ect. good luck

Foil Paper

In your case with built in convectors, your probably better off purchasing a roll of foil paper from a supply house in the area and replacing what you have there now, since there is not much room behind them to install fiberglass foil face insulation.
