I was wondering if anyone could give me a manufacturers name for a 3/4" or 1" main water line valve that will automatically turn the water off if there is a leak in the house. I remember seeing one in a trade magazine that used fuzzy logic but I dont recall the name of the company.

    Flow Guard Gold

The same company that makes the PVC pipe and fittings makes the flow cut off device. I have there number at home and will post it if some one else doesn't first.

Thank you for the name and number Art. FloLogic was the unit that I was looking for.

    Water Cop

Water Cop is also a main water valve that responds to wireless water sensors and turns off the valve if there is a leak.

    Qtronics

Qtronics (www.qtronics.com) also has a 1" shutoff valve (water maestro). It's more like watercop than the flologic in that it requires water sensors to operate as it will close the valve if either wired or wireless sensors detect water. Unlike watercop, the water maestro can either operate standalone and wait for a water leak event before closing the valve or be interfaced to an automation/security system such that it closes the valve when you put your alarm into "away" or "vacation" mode and electronically open the valve when you disarm your security system. You could also interface water sensors to such an automation/security panel and provide additional protection. Current draw is pretty small (~30ma) so it's very easy and inexpensive to provide a very long 12 VDC battery backup (watercop requires a line voltage UPS for battery backup).
