zone valves

that is a two wire thermostat type system. The thermostat wire should be connected to terminals 2 and 4 on the zone valve.

Disconnect the wires from 2 and 4 and make a small jumper wire and jump out the #2 and #4 connections on ZV if it opens and by the way you have to leave the jumper in place to allow the internal warp switch to open or it will just go around and close. If jumping out 2 and 4 brings it to open then the problem is in wire from the thermostat or the thermostat itself. If jumping out 2 and 4 does not cause it to open then it will have to be replaced. I am assuming you have 24 volts to the valve because the other zone is working. You can place it on manual until it gets replaced by removing the wire from #1 terminal and turning it manually to the open position.

You can check with your local plumbing and heating supply for a replacement.

Better than that is to hire a professional heating contractor who will do it all for you plus check out your system to make sure it is operating correctly.

    zone valves

I have two white rodgers water valves type 1361-103 1". one of the valves is operating o.k, the other doesn't open on its own. When i open it, it just keeps spinning to the closed position. just wondering if someone can give me some input . either to replace it or fix it and where i can find a replacement.

    Is there a signal

to call for opening ? perhaps a wire is broke slsewhere. T/sts to Valve signal is requierd. It could be the valve however maybe something much simpler

    W/R zone valve closing

Remove the thermostat and short the "w" & "r" wires together. This should open the valve. If not jumper the thermostat terminals 2 & 4 on the zone valve. If it opens you have a broken wire between the zone valve and thermostat.
