I turned it off for about 1/2 hour. Turned it on and it was working fine for about 15 min. Then the hot air blowing turned to cool air.

Any ideas??

Pilot stays lit but main burner(s) cut out. sounds like gas valve failing.

    Could be the high limit....

it cuts out, either because of a problem with the flame (too much),
or it is failing and cutting out at too low a temp. and will not reset.
Turning the power off and back on will sometimes reset things....

Do you have make and model #'s???

Better get a pro to look at that....

Lets back up to the very basics

I don't mean to insult your inteligence with this suggestion, but have you changed your furnace filters latley? If you have, did you change the type of filter you were using, as in before you used the .50 cent fiberglass filters and now you are using the $5.00 or more pleated allergen filters? If so the pleated filter is probaly restricting your air flow, or the pleated filter would have gotten dirty a lot faster then the fiberglass filter. I know this sound very basic and maybe stupid, but I do see the filter being the problem all the time.

Another thought, have you by chance replaced your thermostat for whatever reasons? If you have, it is probaly not set right. If it is a mechanical type stat, the anticipator is probably not set high enough to keep the burner on constantly.

Have you watched the burner for 10 or 15 minutes at a stretch to see if it stays on, or is it cyling on and off while the blower continues to run. If the burner stays on all the time then you either have a burner firing at full capacity or the blower is not at the right speed.

If any of the above items apply other than the filter, you really need to get a professional out there to watch this unit and get it running properly.

Hope this is of some help to you.
