I'm looking to maintain a 200,000 gal tank of storage water
at 45 degrees F. the tank is outside above ground and uninsulated. design temperature for our area is o degrees F.
Can anyone show me the calculation(s) to determine the
steam requirements? I have plant steam available.

    wood tank?

    Surface area ?

of exposed water = evaporation and heatloss due to temp diff
and surface area of tank - is the bottom exposed?

wood - R-1 for insulation and use standard heat loss calculation

    Student Problem?

Find the pounds/hour of condensate (based on the delivery pressure of the steam) required to raise 200,000 gallons of water in a 0° environment by one degree.

    It's ALL on the web.
