What check valve is preferred on the discharge line of a condensate pump: Swing or spring and why?

The Biggest...
...factor is sizing it for the flow. Line-size check valves are almost always way too big. Get the data off the pump (GPM and discharge head), and talk to the check valve manufacturers. Checks that are too big wear out long before they should because they flap like a flag in the wind. Over size valves that don't open up all the way have a higher pressure drop than smaller (correctly) sized valves that are driven full-open by the fluid flow. The correct valve size is likely a lot smaller than you're used to seeing.0
