I have read with great interest regarding diy and radiant or anything installed by the homeowners.
If I may say that sites on the internet are an extremly good sorce of information where people can get expert advice, but my view is that depending on the task at hand is how far advanced a project will go.my question is that if a home owner is going to spend many thousands of dollars on a radiant system surely a personal visit to the property by a profesional would be a far better way to go.
their are so many avenues to cover it is immense, suppose a ho installed a complete radiant system, went to turn the boiler on and it didn;t work, surely a ho would be far better off working along side a professional,so that he can then visit the site work it all out then tell the customer how it should be done, how to run and lay pex correctly there fore the home owner will be guided under supervision.
I for one have 20 years of experiance from the uk,now in america have 7 months of radiant under my belt,i thought at first radiant would be easy, how wrong i was, thank god i have got background heating experiance behind me to help me along the way,the knowledge to install radiant heating is huge,my own personal view is that a home owner should get a professional in to help guide and show a customer the right way,how may ho know how to program a tekmar taco control, the knowledge required is years of experiance not a few months.
I think a radiant site would be good but it must have limitations and people should be aware of that, once advice is given you can put that to good use ,but only with previous experiance can this knowledge be put to useful use.
hope that you are all well and safe ,had a happy new year
please take good care my friends
all the best
