radiant job on exsisting slab

Does anyone have any experience putting tubing down on an exsisting slab and then capping it off with another layer of material, ether a gypcrete product or some other mix?
The slab is poured onto metal decking, basement underneath.why tubing was not installed during the initial pour i do not know.there can only be a 2 inch cap layer, should a layer of some sorta thin insulating material go down on the old slab or would you just figure on heating the whole slab.I know the steel decking would get insulation underneath.
Ive also looked at a job on another exsisting slab, but this ones in the basement.which is below grade. would laying down some of that thin blue insulation they put underneath vinyl siding be worth while?or do ya attach the tubing right to the exsisting slab and forget about it.

Wouldn't one of the radiant panel products from Wirsbo, Stadler-Viega, RPI, or Rheau (spelling?) be more appropriate in these cases than adding more mud?

I've used Stadlers climate panels on top of exsisting slabs with good results.I believe Warmboard would work just as well or even better.Their aluminum is on top of the wood so contact with that and the cement wouldn't be a problem.
