Entran II

Is there a way to tell if Entran II tubing is starting to fail? Some type of water test perhaps?

The tubing looks and feels fine from the outside but without cutting out a piece is there a way to know what is happening to it on the inside?

    Entran II

In every case that I have seen the Entran will turn a very ugly mud color and become hard to the point of being brittle.

Not all E-II failed. It was a specific batch. If you can get the batch numbers off the side of the tube we could see if it was produced during that period.

    Hope this helps.

    Check

the date code. As I recall E2 was produced from 1989-1992. The problematic stuff seems to be the end of production late 91-92 stuff. Allegedly that's when more fillers were added to the mix?? Look for discoloring, squeeze it with your fingers. Soft??

DON'T drain the fluid!! Any plasticizers that may have leached out of the tube, need to stay in the tube.

Temperature seems to play a big part in the problems. Run it as low as possible, make sure it's leak proofed and disconnect the auto fill system. I'd add a LWC but save the fluid you drain for reintroduction.

Run time, and temperatures are the forces to be reckoned with :)
