    reverse return

I'm hoping someone can give me suggestions to solve a problem .I took over servicing a 3 floor office building last January. It has baseboard heaters that are supplied with a reverse return system(first supplied/last returned).Building is over 10 yrs old, it has split loops on some of the zones. My problem is that a couple of these split zones are only heating on one part of the split, water seems to be following path of least resistance,if you can imagine.I have been told that they never had this problem before and I can't seem to find anything that changed that would cause this problem. My circ is running, my pressure is up, my zone valves are opening but my mind is blank.Any suggestions appreciated.

    get

some valves on the supply branches or the returns. Throttle until flow is established and temperatures are in balance. All the air is out?

    ? pump ?

That may be an old enough pump that the impeller is wearing out. Only visual inspection of it will reviel it. If you got the new parts you could inspect and do maintence at the same time. bigugh

    pumps

The system has two pumps, one running(Grundfos 65-160 I think)and one standby(armstrong S55).I have already switched to standby pump to try.The Grundfos is new in the last couple of years.

Something has changed and the owner may not be aware of it.
Why have you taken this over ? what happened to the last guy ? Have you looked around to see if anything had changed piping wise ? How about up in the offfices, did they move a door or wall ? How about the baseboard, have you checked for balancing cocks ?

I would do as Gary suggest, even if the pump is new. Maybe a blade has broken.

I feel your pain on this one, but keep at it.

What kind of flow check is on the sysyem?
If it gets stuck it will restrict the flow of water.
This happened to me and drove me nuts.
