Got a client who has asked us for back up power unit natural gas, mounted outside on pad, Who makes the best set up including automatic transfer switches etc. We've done some houses with Kohler ones before anybody else. I'm thinking enough for a 200 amp house max or maybe something at 50 amp for critical circuts as a less exspensive alternative. THANX!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a coincidence.

I had Christmas dinner yesterday with my oldest freind in the U.S., Jim Chesson. He taught me everything I know about marine & offshore power-generating systems.

He can get used, but in perfect condition, 15KW, 12-wire, 120/240/480 3 ph generators. They are complete, skid-mounted, with tank, brand new regulator, battery and alternator, and main disconnect breaker.

He has one supplying his 3,000 sq ft two story home, with 4 window AC units and electric range.

He is only asking $2,900 plus shipping for them. You would have to supply your own transfer switch, or he could supply that too, and set it up for whatever voltage you need.

I checked all the used gen companies on the web, and the lowest price I could find for a 15KW was $5,900.

Let me know if you or anyone is interesed.

I will be making these, and other sizes and configurations available at my www.energysaviours.com site, as soon as I can. I'm almost there.

A Happy energy-efficent New Year to you all.

    Brian Wood.
