Don't let your boiler room smell like Hawaiian Punch!

Today I had to isolate a boiler bank and remove the glycol/water mixture so that we could weld the heat exchanger. Went to the shop, picked up the pump and some empty plastic drums that we store outside the shop, threw them in the van and went to work. Got to the job and left my glasses in the truck; couldn't read the label on the drum, but could see that there was some residue in them. Filled them up with water to clean them out and dumped them out on the boiler room floor. Naturally the floor slopes away from the drains. Turned the whole floor Merry Christmas Red! Went out to the truck to get my glasses to read the label on the drum. Here it was concentrate Hawaiian Punch from Cliffstar that someone brought back froma job. Drums are the same color as our glycol drums. Spent several unexpected hours and several thousand gallons of water cleaning up the mess. Guess the bottom line is never assume. The only good thing is that the boiler room smells like those fruity air fresheners that you find in the mens room. Pipe Tight! Do it right! A very Blessed Christmas to all of you and to your families! Joe.
