does anyone have a thermistor type aquastat that could be used instead of a Honeywell 8148 and /or a 8124(tankless) boiler control. I would like to use something more accurate. It could be either HW, White-Rdgs, etc.? tia kpc

I've seen advertising for the Honeywell L7124U but I haven't seen one in person yet or any instructions or technical literature. It is advertised as "electronic" and "universal", so it would appear that it uses a thermister to sense temperature and is switchable from triple aquastat to high limit only modes.

Hi Kevin, If it helps any I just thought I would let you know I have been testing a number of controls from different manufactures and one of them is the Honeywell that was mentioned. one of the many I have been testing is the Honeywell L7124U 1003 It has worked for a number of moths without any complication and seems to be very accurate.

And just for the record I do not sell these controls I just use them in my seminars and test some of them as part of the research and consulting I do for Honeywell.

Another one you'll want to keep your eyes open for is my good friend Bob Tonners controls. Bob and I spent some time together last month going over his new programmable aqustat and I have to tell you this thing is going to kick some butt!

    Happy Holidays.

    Your friend in the industry,

    Setpoint controls

Kevin, there are a number of thermistor based setpoint controls out there. Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Goldline. Many have different features like adjustable differentials. Using any other control not installed by the manufacturer might mess with any warranty. Dunno if this helps, but I hope it does.
