Dirty water will produce those fluctuations and also cause water to fall into the glass from the top. Flush out the water side of the boiler thoroughly and see if that helps.

Water coming from the Top of the Guage Glass at Boiler

    Dear Sir,

I request you to please advise us on the following problem encounter with the 2200 KPA working Pressure and 300 Deg Centigrade temp and 170 Tonne Steam Flow Capacity Boiler.

As we are operating the boiler at the 100 tonne per hour load the water level is very stable.
Once we are starting operating at 135 to 145 tonnes , as the water in the guage glass is mving up and down very frequently.
And also we noticed the guage glass level showing more than the 65 % with up and down movement , and at the same time water is falling (narrow with cylindercal cone type shape)from the top end of the guage glass.
As we thought that the steam is getting condensing before enetering into the guage glass, we were insulated those tappings. But the problem was not solved.

The chemistry of the water is good and moisture in the fuel is 49%(Bagasse - waste of the Sugar Cane).

It is unforunate that the fluctuations were not reading by any of the Level Transmitter fitted on to the Drum. and serious is water carry over and temperature droping down.

Could you please advise me what might be the wrong and what to do to over come this problem

    Thansk & Best Regards,

    Ravindra
