Great question!
I work in Visio, but someone posted that there were symbols for both AutoCad and Visio available from someone. I was traveling and did not write it down. How about it?0 -
Try
http://www.aay.com/symindex.htm
http://www.coe.uncc.edu/mosaic/mosaic_help/pc_help/visiotech/autocad1.html
http://www.acmedataservices.com/Auto-Cad/Libraries.htm
Or type "autocad symbol libraries" into Google

Get creative, draw them yourself.
It's not really difficult to do. If the drawings are for your own consumption (not to be filed for permits, for example) then you don't have to worry about meeting any ASTM, ISO, ASHRAE, or other standards.
I've attached a few that I drew for my own needs, feel free to use them.0 -
