steam pressure

I would like to know what a good starting point for steam pressure is ,2 psi,5 psi 10.I am presently working on a system that is running 10 -15 psi which supplies steam to ahu in the roof, the other zone is 3 psi supplied t oa vari vac system,
i amjust trying to figure this complete system out,I got Dan's book .
Is there a advantage to higher steam pressure,or is it better to keep it low.
One thing that i noticed was a 3" horizontil vac condensate main running along the floor it dissapeared under the floor and came back up 20 feet away, the boiler and vac pump is located aprox 15 feet below this.I noticed a line 1.5" connecting to the 3" main where it goes under the floor and comes back up,hard to picture,ok its like a box with one line going in one side and exiting the opposite side, would the vac system work on this?
thanks

Keep it low.
If it is a low pressure system, chances are 2 psi is about all it needs. More than that and it becomes inefficient and costs tons to run.
However, getting condensate back to the boiler may be an issue, maybe that's why it was cranked up so high. It would be good to see pictures of the piping to make a better assesment.
