    bad gas valve

I have a customer, with an older furnace (appx 1974) with a bad gas valve. I have looked thru my Honeywell book, but I cant find the numbers that I got off the valve to do a cross referance to a new valve. The homeowner knows he should replace the furnace, but wants to get past this cold spell, and is waiting on his tax return.

The valve is for an 75,000BTU input, 60,000BTU output burner. Inlet and outlet are 1/2IPS. There is a standing pilot, and the thermostat wires attach to a small black box on the top of the valve.

If anyone has any old referance books, and could fax or e-mail to me, it would be a great help. I wrote down all the numbers I saw on the valve, I figured if I didnt get them all, it would be the one I missed that I needed.

The numbers I got off the valve are

    V8280A-1010-03

    also--V8254A

the last number that looked familiar was

    V5108A3.5AG

    Thanks in advance,

Here's what I could find for you

In my Honeywell book, the V8280A1010 Doesn't show up. However, all the other V8280A series valves cross over to a V800A1070, which then crosses over to a VR8200A2132 or VR8300A3518. Both of these are Standard opening, standing pilot valves, nothing special about them.

The V8254A also crosses over to a V800A1070 and then to a VR8200A2132.

In other words, according to what I am seeing, any standard off the shelf universal standing pilot gas valve would work.

    Hope this helps.

    replacements.

Just for sake of education the valve base number is the V8280A the "A" after the number stands for standard opening.

The V8254A is the number of the Automatic Operator on the valve which used to be replacable (not anymore)

The V5108 is the regulator number which is set for 3.5" WC.
