How long do I have Doc?

Dan, I;m a homeowner who knows enough to get in trouble. I did just replace my 30+ yr boiler.I have a few questions how long will galvanized pipes last in a hot water system?, mine are 70+ yrs. Where does all the water go?. I have to add water several times a year, I can't find any leaks. Would it be ( more efficent ) to keep the pump running all the time, a little longer than the burner, or only when the burner is on?, like it is now. I think your site is great and full of knowledge, something I can't find here in Ohio. Thanks Vince
