    same problem

I also have the same problem with water in the radiators. I have had 3 different contractors from my area look at it with no solutions. It seems that no one in my area knows a hoot about steam systems. I think I've learned more on this web sight than they know, the valve on one of the radiators is stuck open, I wanted a new valve put on it but the last guy told me that wouldn't solve my problem because the valves don't really close all the way anyways. I suggested just taking out the radiator and capping the pipe, because the apartment that it's in, really has enough radiators all ready, but was told that wouldn't work. The radiator spits water and yesterday I had it leaking in the down stairs. I've replaced the air valve and everything and don't know what else to do. I hate this system, if anyone knows of anyone that lives in Northern Wisconsin that is knowledgable on steam heat please let me know. I think I'll try to milk it through one more season and then find a different heating source. It's too bad because the boiler is only 3 years old, but I was told that the contractor that put it in put in one that was really too big for the building, took the last owner for a ride. Any help in plain english would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sharon

If you don't need that radiator ..

why not just take out the vent and plug it. Or is the leak around the valve?

    Plugging the vent

Will keep the air in and steam out if that's what you want. For the valve issue call a plumber instead of a warm air heating contractor. Shouldn't be too hard to keep the valve from leaking if the casting isn't cracked.
