2-pipe steam with air vents

A question out of curiosity. I've read Dan's books, and he describes 2-pipe systems with steam traps. My home has both one and two-pipe radiators, and the two-piper's have air vents on them, not steam traps. Is this unusual? They appear to work perfectly well.

Obviously my posting didn't get through. It's a question out of curiosity: I have a one and two-pipe system, about 1/3 of the radiators have two-pipes. But they don't have steam traps on them, as Dan has described in his books, but they have air vents. Is this unusual? They appear to work fine.0 -
unusual
and very old. I'll bet each two-pipe radiator drains to a wet return.Retired and loving it.0
