Radiator Replacement Options

I am in the planning stages of remodeling the kitchen of an 80 year old colonial two story home. There is a full size radiator located under the kitchen sink that I would like to remove and replace with a smaller unit, hopefully in the kickplate below the cabinets.

I've heard of something that is much smaller, attaches to the existing heating pipes and has a fan that would facilitate more efficient heating of the kitchen.

Currently the only thing that is heated is the kitchen sink and counter top.

Does anyone know who manufactures this? Or maybe a better alternative. Again, I'm looking to integrate something into the existing heating system of the house.

Any information is appreciated.

  • Brad, Slant/Fin is one of the companies

Here is one; it is for hot water heating, not steam.

Kitchens are a great place for radiant floor...

And it tends to blend well with an existing cast iron radiant systems... Just finished one a couple weeks ago. If that floor is hardwood, ceramic, or vinyl, it is a wonderful way to heat those bare feet. A kickspace heater, would, in my humber opinion, be a last resort, the only place that will feel as comfortable as the rest of the home with those cozy radiators is the spot where the air blows out of the unit across the floor.
