    Old Radiator Traps

    Folks,

Any tricks for removing the cap on older radiator traps? I don't want to break anything if I can help it.

    Thanks, Dave
  • A socket and a 3/4\" breaker bar

and use a back-up wrench on the trap body to protect the piping from snapping.

    And some luck...

    type of trap

I'm not sure yet. I believe it's either a Trane (I have a Trane vapor system) or it's a Hoffman.

Replacing the innards is my first choice. Any suggestions here?
