Does anybody know much about these units?
They are made in Lake Forest California so all of you california heating contractors out there, please help me out here.
We got called in on an installation where the original installer ran away from this one.
Can this unit actually make both heat and hot water in my part of the country? It gets cold in NYC.
I am in touch with Noritz and they say it will work. One thing I don't like is that the maximum output is 167 degrees and you can only get that constantly by mixing in cold water all of the time.

Noritz Boilers
From what I understand Noritz is a manufacturer of tankless gas fired water heaters. They are relativley new to the market but are very much like Takagi and Rinai. They are designed as water heaters, not boilers. They have a very high pressure drop across the heat exchanger. I have had good results with the Takagi water heaters in both domestic water heating and space heating applications. In space heating though, I have had to keep the temperatures high in my primary (167deg) and then mix it down in my secondary loop in order to get the flow in my lower temp zones (radiant) I'm not sure how you could get high temp, high flow out of it without using a massive pump (pressure drop 20 psi or greater through the heater?)
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
