but the concert was delightful!

Just six years ago, it was, he needed me to carry it for him. They sounded like a bunch of alley cats tied up in a burlap bag and tossed into a huge garbage can back then. Tonight, they sounded like a symphonic orchestra. What a testimony to their countless hours of practice and the dedication of the music teachers (who almost assuredly must be tone deaf at the elementary levels!). One of his elementary music teachers was in the audience tonight - must have been damn proud of these kids almost turned adults.

Three weeks till he turns 16. Seems like yesterday he was the little squirt who needed help holding that bass(G). He'll have wings shortly and our lives will never be the same again, but that's what we're supposed to do - give them strong wings with which to fly the coop.

Jobs come & jobs go, but the one job that holds the greatest challenges and rewards is the one called "parent". Work pays the bills, this pays for the really important things in life.
