having the boiler in the basement, lower than the pex. most jobs are done that way. you only need 5 to 10 lbs. pressure in the boiler to make it up to the 2nd floor. bob

Radiant piping above the boiler
Fellas,
My company has a customer with a 2 million dollar home with radiant piping (PEX) above the boiler which is in the basement. All of the PEX is in the first and second floors, as well as 5 terraces which have Pex for Ice melt.
Is this more problematic than normal systems where the Boiler is at the same level as the PEX, or Below like most
of the systems I've seen?
Also, can you use an auto air vent at the highest point on the Ice Melt? Has a Spirovent! John0
