    try

going to sears, my understanding is they will give credit pretty easy, more easily if you are making a purchase. Also, they are pretty well respected by the credit reporting companys (or so I have been told). Buy some tools, or a some home items. Pay them off and you will probally get a flood of offers. Just be aware, and be careful about which ones you accecpt.

    Chucks right

Gary the best way is to geta card like Sears and pay it of every month, in no time you'll get plenty of offers.

And like Chuck said look closely at what they are saying in the offer.

Yep I'm fairly new to the country and I now have a credit cards via the initial sears card method. Plus you get discount on tools with the sears card for a week period once a month.

    There is

nothing wrong with a secured card, Gary. After a few purchases and pay backs the same thing with a Sears will happen. It is actually a very easy way to get an unsecured card. Many companies will start with low amounts up front-some as low as $100.00.

    Good luck

Do you have a family member who would be willing to give you a joint card on one of their accounts. As long as they and you maintain the account you will start to develop a credit rating that way.
