Injection vs Motorized 3-Way

Okay, men of radiant, which is better and why? I have been pondering in my head what advantage injection has over using a 3-Way Modulating Mixing Valve since this practive has been used for years, while injection is a fairly new practice. Seems to me that an installation using injection is more $$$ and for the life of me I can't figure out the advantage. Now I'm talking about whole house installations where you have multiple temps not a single temp.

My understanding is that injection was started to fix the problems of jobs in the Northwest and Canada where a non O2 barrier tubing was used and this was the birth of Tekmar. Anyone else out there have any info on this.

    I think it's

more of a case as which fits the particular job best. i don't fell one is better than the other. Depends on the budget and scale of the job. Time and place for all methods. It is possible to overdo a control system, in my opinion :) KISS is a good approch for many jobs. Especially the ones far from home.

a wise man, and radiant instructor once said. If the controls cost more than the tubing, you are probally over controling the system. I agree with Hot Rod, depends on budget, and how far from home it is. A manual 3 way mixer is a fairly inexpensive item. A little more for a motorized three-way. And then injection is more money still. There are too many variables, with each job, to make a blanket statemtent.

    IMHO

    Mixing Valves

I've been piping system bypass with three way mixers (thermostatic, not electric) to various zones and temps with good results. The piping gets a little cluttered but once this system gets dialed in it's relatively trouble free.
