Standard Building Code
Is anyone familiar with a requirement to have an emergency boiler kill switch at boiler room exits? I refer to a "mushroom" type big button that will kill all boilers in the room when pressed.
Specifically down south in the Standard Building Code/Standard Mechanical Code jurisdictions.
If so, can you point me to where the requirement might be found?
Thanks.

Could it be ...
that you are refering to CSD-1?
It does require a "kill" switch (not necessarily a push button mushroom type) outside the boiler room door.
CSD-1 applies to larger boilers (>400 MBH) and has been adopted in several southern states.
Does this help?

I don't recognize that acronym - CSD. Can you help?0 -
CSD-1
ANSI/ASME -- Controls and Safety Devices for Automatically Fired Boilers. A national code, that has been adopted by many states. Applies to larger boilers >400,000 Bth (does not apply to residential).0 -
More CSD-1 info ...
Here is a website:
http://www.nationalboard.org/article3.html
& I will attempt to attach a spreadsheet that lists all the states that have adopted CSD-1.0 -
Thank you everyone!
