Anybody out there who can tell me about exterior flue termination noise on the munchkin 140 and 199s, also any heat exchanger or burner/ blower failures to report. PS I am within 24 hrs of being a Munchie installer. This is way out of my normal safe haven of burnham mainline boilers. But have fixed every thing under the sun. Thanks Tim

Noise?
It is the quietest boiler I have "never" heard.
No exchange/blower failures.
No board failures.
No failures period.
What model are you installing?

Mark, the 199, I am really concerned about the outdoor flue termination, we have a decibal rating requirement here that is most the time overlooked except for when you have an "interesting neighbor". The law states a maximum that many pieces of equipment don't meet. Thanks for all the input, Tim.0 -

Unless
the neighbor has their ear up to it, they won't hear a thing.
Do you have combustion analysers?
You need one to set up the gas valve on Munchkins.
It is done by CO readings.
For a 199m natural gas, you need to read 100ppm CO while in high fire.
If you want I will e-mail you my cell # so you can call with any other ?'s.

Munchkin noise
Tim
I haven't installed the 140 or the 199 but have 2 of the 80's working. Make sure you allow for expansion of the PVC on the vent piping. PVC expands considerably when it heats up and if not given enough room to move you'll get some loud popping sounds as the exhaust pipe heats up. I had to go back to one home and loosen the clamps.

analyzers
have 3 or 4 of them, do alot of burners set up.0 -
No noise
I've never heard a noise complaint. Inside or outside. They all run very quiet.0 -
Set up
Mark, what is the process for set up. I have one 140,000 and about five 80,000 out there and have not had to do anything out of the normal start up. I don't want to be missing something on my start up, how do you adjust the co levels? thanks, Patrick0 -
HTP
wants to see CO readings at high fire as follows:
For natural gas applications
80m = 80ppm
140m = 90ppm
199m = 100ppm
For LP applications
80mlp = 100ppm
140mlp = 110ppm
199mlp = 120ppm
There is an adjustment screw next to the venturi.
Hope this helps!!

Pretty quiet
Just a very faint sound from the blower. Can't imagine it would exceed any restrictions. Certainly quieter than my dryer outlet, for example.0
