I was at a home today doing some plumbing work...they have a Trianco Heatmaker. I noticed that several times the boiler would start to turn on run iginition for 10-15 seconds then shut off.The temp was around 180 approx. It did this a bunch of times. Is there a reason for this? TIA. kpc

Short cycling could be caused by air in the tank, circ pump that circulates between tank and heat exchanger. Limit tripping early, one of probably 4 things. Ps if you have not noticed, worked on many but never installed one.

    Short cycling

Sound like the 3" exhaust vent inside the 5" intake, has either cracked or a fitting came loose and is contaminationg the intake air. To find out, disconnect the Mission coupling on the air intake, pull out the 90 that that comes from the top of the combustion chamber to the top of the mission coup., and leave the air oriface inside the mission coupling. This way you're pulling intake air from the room only. If it doesn't short cycle, your 3" exhaust is broken. If it still cycles, jump each limit till you find the problem. Remember, never leave the job with any safety limit jumped. In the early Heatmakers, they used the high temp plastic like Hart and cooley on natural gas only and primitaive stainless steel with LP on the exhaust vent. Since like the middle 90's they've used the Safe T type stainless pipe for everything. Contact Laars heating and they can set you up with everything you need to replace the venting system. I believe there was a recall on the Hi temp plastic and they figured in a $200 labor allowance. Just about enought money to get your tools out of the truck. Especially since you need to reset the gas/air mixture for proper combustion. If you have any problems let me know. I've installed and serviced them for 'bout 15 yrs and seen most problems.

    CHARGING THE CUSTOMER

200.00 $ IS WHAT (CAP) WILL PAY. U CAN WRITE TO REQUEST MORE IF THE INSTALL IS MORE INVOLVED THAN A NORMAL INSTALL.
ALSO YOU CAN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER ADDITIONAL MONEY WE CALLED AND (CAP)SAID THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
