Viessman also sells an aluminum block boiler, but it is not imported. MZ and a few other European manufactures "play" with aluminum. I imagine it would be an excellent heat transfer material, aluminum transfer plates, would be a good example of this.

The key will be the fluid maintenance, in my opinion. Keep in mind lots of aluminum block engines out there. And in theory engines are heat exchangers also, turning chemical energy into mechanical energy, with a LOT of heat created in the process. Plenty of aluminum radiators, and HXs used in automotive applications. Tranmission coolers, intercoolers for turbo, etc.

I believe aluminum can work, if all the critical issues are properly addressed :) Seems to me "operator error" will be the biggest bugaboo to overcome :)

My understanding is that this boiler is an import from Europe. Is it sold somewhere as we see it here? If so- what is the reliability been there? If not what parts are imported? Have they done long term testing? If so let's hear from these beta testers. Inquiring minds want to know!
