I just got this email
"If not all infloor heating is the same, who has the best product for the money? We are getting ready to build a million dollar plus home on a mountain-top in Asheville, NC. Who sells and installs this kind of heating? What do you do about air conditioning?
Thanks for your help.
Candy"

that if she's willing to pay travel time - we'll be delighted to do the work! I might need to build in the cost of a Huey(G).

Are you going to

Hey!
You can't just pick me up, you gotta wine & dine first(G).
OK, seriously. I'm surprised there's no one in her area that's tuned in to radiant heating. If there's no contractor listed here, then she might check the RPA's referal listings. Then there's the host of manufacturers who have contractors listed or on a referal list. Local suppliers can sometimes help too.
The A/C should be a separate system. A 7 figure home deserves a righteous mechanical system. The real trick will be getting one who can do the total package for PHVAC. Finding a GC who will allow the mechanical contractor to influence the job construction is a 3-pointer twish. Direct communication between the radiant contractor and the owners is the single most important item.

The irony
is that I've got homeowners emailing me out of the blue about putting radiant into million-dollar (plus!) homes and I have to plead with contractors to get listed on this site.

Don't know bout the contractor but lets talk about the a/c
I have no clue who is the best conractor for the buck but here is a smokin way to save some money on your a/c bill. Whenever I have a customer who wants radiant floor heat and air conditioning I recommend use a water cooled a/c unit. If you circulate the water through a storage tank it will store the heat from your ac coil and you can plumb that into the cold inlet on your hot water tank and save yourself some hot water heating.0 -
