Weil Mclain Boiler
I have an older PFG-7 (390,000 btu) boiler that is starting to perk like a coffee pot when firing. It's operating at 20PSI, 180* has good water flow and is not over fired. (no water treatment ever) The installation could of been a little neater but it has heated for 20 years without the noise, says the customer. The expansion tank is piped without an Airtrol fitting and tank water level seems low(no sight tube or valves / openings). I have my thoughts, but wondering what someone elses might be before digging into it further. Thanks0 -
Check to see if the pumps somehow by-pass to push against eachother toward the boiler. I recently had this problem and it sounded exactly like coffee perking.0 -
