That is one AWESOME photo. And thats Twenty miles away ??
I would think that would be a opportunity of a lifetime.
Glad you had a good time, and I hope you don't have the weather we're having here in N.E.

And another incredible journey begins...
Boy, am I lucky!!! TLLA and myself ended a wonderful 7 day Carribean cruise, one day in St. Martin, one day in St. Thomas, one day on a private beach (Half Moon Cay) and came back to spend a relaxing week on the beautiful sandy beaches of Cocoa Beach. While we were there, we got the opportunity of a life time. We saw a NASA shuttle launch. The first Israeli astronaut to enter space was onboard.
Unfortunately, due to extremely tight security (on land AND sea) I was unable to visit the mechancial rooms on the ship and at NASA. The security surrounding the shuttle launch was the most anyone has ever seen. We had SWAT members on horse back on our beach, the sea was full of Navy SEALS in high speed water craft, and the sky was full of GIrenes in Hewey helicopters.
We could only get within 20 miles of the launch, but it was still an awesome sight. I watched through binoculars as the solid fuel rockets detached and watched a tiny point of light disappear into outer space.
On Friday, there was two ships that drug the two solid fuel boosters back into the port of Caneveral. What a show.
Here's a picture that LuAnn caught with her digital camera.
I'm back and ready to take on the world. Hope you all had a good 2 weeks without me!!
Enjoy!

Amazing picture!
That picture is absolutely awsome. What did it sound like? I just finished reading "The Last Man on the Moon" by Eugene Cernan and looking at your picture from 20 miles away really puts some of the stuff he said in perspective.
Hey Dan. Great book if you need something to read on the trip to Chicago. Cernan is from Chicago and the Wetstock II will be about 30 minutes north of the Eugene Cernan Museum at Triton College in Maywood. Small for sure but cool stuff there including the precursor to IMAX movies.
