Wireless T stat

The batteries in the T8665A should last at least a year in normal use. They are regular AA batteries that are available anywhere, and the "REPL BAT" message appears 30 days before the batteries wear out. The Reciever module is 24 volt system powered. I forgot to mention that this unit is also compatible with our zoning systems.

What wireless thermostats are you guys using. Give me the good, the bad and the ugly about this new technology.

Thanks as always for your input.

    Wireless stat

Ours is the T8665A1002. It has all the features of the Chronotherm 4's like lighted display, 7 day programming, programmable hold, programmable fan, Adaptive Intelligent Recovery, Daylight Savings key, programmable range stops, etc. It works with the W8665A1009 Receiver module that mounts in the mechanical room & wires to the equipment. Use the W8665E1000 module for multistage and heat pumps. Wires R,Rc,W,Y,G for conventional hydronic, steam or forced air heating & cooling. Multistage/ heatpump model has additional terminals. No complaints about them from homeowners or contractors. They are available from any Honeywell distributor. Not a retail item.

    Danfoss TP75-RF

Installed a Danfoss (RX-3) three zone reciever and one T stat (TP75-RF) last week. Installed in a home with 10 zone baseboard hydronic system, with standard Honeywell 24v two position valves.

So far the single T stat works just fine, but I want to give it more time before passing judgement, then also order two more wireless T stats.

This model is intended for typical 24v AC controls. Danfoss also makes a 24v DC... intended for floor radiant systems.

In a week or two I'll be writing up my experiences and results.

    wireless t-stat for VAV

anyone know of a wireless t-stat that works with a DDC VAV controller (like Titus DESV)...the only ones i've found is trane, but the are "too big & ugly" according to the architect.....the kele RT-R looks ok, but it's not a true t-stat, it's essentially a repeater with a 60 second cycle (too lengthy) that transmitts either 4-20 mA or 0-10 v....i'd like a 10k thermistor type with the receiver able to communicate on a BMS bus
